Thank god it's Friday?

Lunch was awesome, not so awesome to see USA get a score stolen from them for no reason. :(

Maki – veggie roll with Napa cabbage kimchi, Asian kaiware, carrots, cucumbers, and green onions.
Maguro don – with salted yellow tail tuna over bamboo rice with green onion and Asian pear. Served with miso braised baby radish.

Out of Office

Just wanted to update, my head has been completely congested and the medicine doesn't really help. I'm keeping myself indoors as much as I can to keep myself alive from the death also known as oak pollen.

I will update with a picture of my car covered in the stuff later just to show off how bad it is out there.

Allergies = 1, Me = 0

This week is starting out interestingly. My sinuses are flipped out by the oak pollen.

For breakfast I did something simple, eggs and turkey bacon.

Pan-seared striped bass with smoky fava bean puree, pickled turnips, seared potatoes, and wilted pea tendrils *nom* I quickly wolfed the whole thing up. The fava bean puree had a similar texture to refried but much more delectable.

And I decided to be a little adventurous with raw cashew milk (with vanilla and agave nectar). Tasted a lot like horchata. If you haven't had it before, I HIGHLY recommend going to Mi Madre's along with some breakfast tacos. Best after a long night (or a great cure for hangovers).

Saturday - Such a perfect day to be outside

After work, I gave myself quite an evening of working out. Surprisingly my legs do not hate me. Since I got out of work early, me and my workout buddy decided to do some running as well as hitting the weight machines. After an hour or two of that, I went along with a new friend to introduce him into Bikram yoga. That kicked my ass but was great. We both got a month pass so we'll both be busy getting our asses handed to. Then I joined my roomie and a friend to play some laser tag at a bachelor/ette party. Ran around there and reminded myself that I USED to be good at DDR.

For breakfast, I joined my two old roomies to pick up some breakfast at Kerbey Lane Cafe. The three of us enjoyed a carafe of mimosas.

Cheers to sitting outside with this great weather and awesome patio! (notice the shading of skin from light to dark, I'm sooooo freaking white I'm transparent)
One thing I enjoy most at Kerbey's is their pancakes. They have a wide selection of types of pancakes and change throughout each season. My favorite, the apple wheat pancakes:

TGIH - Thank Goodness it's Heelday

Last night at the Nerd Nite was brilliant. A lot of people showed up, enjoyed my show and provided a TON of great feedback on my work. Thanks again to those who showed up!

I realized while doing this speech that there's still more I need to read up on, I still barely scratched the surface. I think my speech could of done better if I gave a little bit of a prospective opinion, but I'm glad I did not. I wanted to give enough information to have people interested, look and learn more on their own, and make their own opinion based off of what they found. These are smart people. :)

Today is the last day of heel week. Honestly I'm glad we did this but at the same token I'm glad it's over. Friday - my hand-me-down kick ass boots my roomie gave me:

For breakfast, one of my colleague/good friend brought me a fruit cup including oranges, strawberries, pears, apples and grapes. Another colleague brought in some evil-delicious donuts from South Austin.

For lunch - Tempeh, avocado and pea tendrils sandwich with red potatoes and grapefruit. All vegan and amazing! And I realized I never mentioned this, but during the week I eat at my work cafe which recently went through a menu/building make-over and I am reaping the benefits.

Thursday: Outspoken heels

Today has been no easier, and tonight I get to have my speech at Nerd Nite. If I don't have a recording of it, I will at least include the presentation file on here to show off. Wish me luck! :D

My shoes (will be wearing tonight but with a dress instead of my jeans):

And since today is April Fools Day, I wrapped up my colleague Joe's desk. Notice all the tape there.

No pictures of food today unfortunately due to my short lunch. I had toast with peanut butter for breakfast, and indian spicy lamb vindaloo. Lunch was a tad spicy but really great.

Wednesday: Keep Heeling On

Today has been an extremely busy day, so unfortunately I will have to keep this short and sweet. ;)

My shoes for the day - which were cute but quite hard to walk in. Not good when you have meetings.

And for lunch I enjoyed a really good beef stroganoff (it was really amazing):

Tonight I will break down and finish my speech so it will be ready for all the Nerd Niters tomorrow!

Tuesday: Much more heel on earth

Last night I decided to be mostly productive in working on my speech for this upcoming Thursday for Nerd Nite. I made myself some pasta and made enough to share with the roomie. Unfortunately no pictures to show.

Today, I'm wearing my more cute and low heels:

For Breakfast: milk and cereal

For Lunch: Vietnamese seared beef in lemon juice, baby bok choy and vegetable stir-fry with glass noodles.

Monday: Day one of heel week.

During work last week Spicecake, Ruby and I talked about how rarely we wear high heels. One of our main reasons is because we feel so uncomfortable walking in them, probably due to not wearing them often enough. So somehow it ended up to having a week of heels. From Monday to Friday this week, we're going to wear heels to work.

Today: my red "sassy" heels that I originally got for my friend's wedding last year.

For breakfast: scrambled eggs and turkey bacon

For lunch: Seared Dijon pork chop, Radicchio with cheese and Quinoa salad with toasted almonds

A Foodie - In and Out

I created this to notate the awesome food I make at home (in) and at the places I go to (out).

I like to find and create new recipes that are delicious, healthy and varying from easy to a new challenging thing to make.

Also for times when I don't want to eat at home or cook, I like to find great eateries to fulfill my appetite.
